The T’rintar Clan (Former Yutilian Clan) Page 1
*Spoilers if you haven’t read past Gabatrix: The
First Peace arc*
“The true art of the Yutilian is deception. You
think they are adorable and innocent, but that is
only one of their qualities. The most foolish of
individuals are the ones that turn their backs
against them. By then, it’s already too late,” Shira,
2346 AD.
The history of the Yutilian species is one
that mirrors the history of the Itrean people as a
whole. One of the shortest statured surviving clan
species, the origins on former Earth indicate that
the Yutilians as the descendants of the
Velociraptors. This isn’t to be confused with the
Velociraptors that are portrayed in media and
films. The original Velociraptors were short, about
half the height of an average human, while having
feathery bodies, tails, and pointed beaks. In
reality, the ancient dinosaurs were little more
than scavengers rather than true hunters.
The typical Yutilian of the last fifty
thousand years were typically described as having
stubby long snouts, with an average height of
about 4 feet. They stand upright on digitigrade
legs. Feathers of various colors can be seen on the
arms, back, head, and tail. Generally, most have
claws of some sort that exist on their toes and
fingers. They tend to have four fingers for each
hand, lack hair, and have scales that surround
their bodies. Males originally were very much like
females with almost no muscle mass above the
torso, lacked breasts, but had a slight increase of
muscle mass for their legs. When they talk, the
feathers naturally rise and fall depending on the
emotion that is being portrayed. Among the
Yutilians, the displaying of their feathers can
further help elaborate their speech. To the
average Yutilian, it has been observed that
feathers can be looked at as a status symbol. The
bigger or more feathers you have, the more power
and reverence you have. Some have even been
known to have constructive surgeries or gene
therapies to help adjust their feather patterns or
even alter the colors that they produce.
The earliest recorded histories of the
Yutilians had them almost similar to that of the
Aksren. In fact, by many accounts, the species
were either in good terms or blood enemies over
and over again. In the era of “dead space,” the
Yutilians and Aksren usually competed or
challenged the other over territories and
resources. Space battles and ground battles were
well noted, but this didn’t cover their entire
historical spectrum. Much like the many species,
internal species warfare and conflict were just as
prevalent. There were also times of long-term
peace and attempts at exploration. In most
aspects, the Yutilians were just as violent as many
other clans in conflict but more willing to attempt
negotiation. This careful stride of balance made
them perfect negotiators and those that were
generally more patient than many others. At
times, it was known that the Yutilians would serve
as intermediaries between other clan species
conflicts. It proved to be a viable trait that
persisted from time to time.
The general perception of Yutilians is that
they are all considered friendly, but this is a
common misconception of the human public.
Many of them are naturally inquisitive, but this
doesn’t mean that all of them act in this behavior.
What is described as “coquettish behavior,” the
Yutilians tend to act innocent in order to fool
another that they are relaxed and calm. When one
opens up to one, it is possible that they may reveal
more information than another Itrean clan species
will do. This isn’t to say that the Yutilians all act in
this particular way. In the mainstream Itrean
media, they have a myriad of different behaviors
depending on the environment or religious
upbringing they go through. In combat, the
Yutilians are generally the fastest runners, the
most athletic, and capable of jumping even higher
than the Aksren clan counterparts. The Yutilians
have managed to hold their own in wars and
conflict with technological innovation, including
camouflage equipment, cloaking technology, and
advanced missile-based systems. The race is no
laughing matter in battle, and there is a reason
why they have managed to last for millions of
years to this day.
The greatest successes for the Yutilians
were their warships. Being on par to even surpass
their species counterparts, the guided-missile
battleships they used were capable of laying
waste to enemy combatants before they even
closed into unavoidable railgun range. The control
of space was just as important as controlling the
ground. If the Yutilians struggled to win on the
ground, they certainly made up for it with their
warships in space combat. Unfortunately, even
this wasn’t a saving factor as far back as the
Empire of Jalgren dismantled the Yutilians. The
Aksren Empire ruled the Yutilians with an iron fist.
Instead, the Yutilians contributed in other ways by
providing technology to help in the stabilization of
the empire. For thousands of years, the Yutilians
had worked their way into imperial politics and
were considered the friendliest of the five species
of Itreans. Little to the knowledge of the
imperialists that even the most prolonged of plans
would eventually work.
To the empire, the Yutilians were the
second most trusted of the Itrean species next to
the Aksren themselves. While some Yutilians
wanted to live a peace even under the removal of
freedom, to others, they were slowly finding ways
to erode it from within. The spy network of the
Yutilians had its origins in the empire as agent
after agent would gather valuable data on weak
points and those that were sympathetic to the
demise of such a system. When the days arrived,
the Yutilians had some of their secretly
constructed battleships strike at these vulnerable
areas. It proved to work in the Rototrein Rebellion
as Yutilian, Rebel Aksren, and Shal’rein warships
dealt blow after blow upon Imperial strongholds.
The saying “Never turn your back against a
Yutilian” was commonplace and referred to in
both a positive and negative direction.
After the empire, the Yutilians had resumed
creating large fleets of warships to combat the
other clans. For thousands of years, they had
managed to hold their own while having no
assistance from other clans. Occasionally, they
would engage in peaceful relations, but their
reputation as slew negotiators or tricksters was
difficult to stagger at times. On the other hand,
others still had some respect for them in how they
acted. Being friendly, even if they were faking it,
still proved to help some. It is argued that the
Yutilians sometimes avoided the battles because
they purposely focused on colonizing worlds with
no real heavy value to them. Even genocidal
actions still must have a purpose, and if the other
clans see that a planet or moon is worthless, they
won’t go after it as much. The species had learned
how to skew the facts, manipulate, and use
shrewdness in politics. It proved to be a saving
grace at times.
During the Post-Imperial era, the Yutilians,
much like the other clan species, focused more on
themselves. The last ten thousand years would
also be known as the “Great Kingdoms Era” to the
species. It was known as a time where Yutilian
kingdoms were on the rise. Four of them either
competed with each other or struggled to repel
the other clan species. To them, the Yutilians
never really referred to having their own
“empires” but having their own collectives ruled
by feudal lords. Generally, there was more in-
fighting than outer species conflict. Eventually,
the kingdoms would slowly reorganize to a
parliamentary-style system reminiscent of the
United Kingdom of old Earth history in the last five
thousand years.
This wasn’t to say that the Yutilians avoided
combat, far from it. Campaigns were just as
natural as the other clans did, but they would be
cautious in the recent five thousand years and
have carefully well-constructed battles. The
strategy of choosing planets with little value was
one that they had to be careful with. Less
resources could easily mean fighting fleets that
had far more firepower than you did. Essentially,
the Yutilians picked and chose when to fight and
where to do it. Regardless, there were many
struggles as the clan species would face invasions
from other clan species in regard to having access
to certain planets or resources.
Some argue that the Yutilians are the
smartest of the Itrean species, but this isn’t
always the case. Many return the arguments that
they are simply more cautious and win their
victories by the simple act alone. The people know
when a risky action can be made and when it is
foolish to engage in another. Even on former Earth,
a Velociraptor couldn’t kill an Allosaurus in
physical combat. It would have to find another
way. Because of this, the Yutilians generally
tended to have the best bioengineering at the
time. There were even cases of having some of
their best scientists that worked on other worlds
during the time of the empire. One such disease
was unleashed upon the Palierans and later the
Alara’jal. Both plagues came from a Yutilian. Even
the dreaded Zilik’s Disease was also created by a
Yutilian.
Despite the angles that the Yutilian clan had
managed to fall into, the species still had some
issues. What is known as the “Magneirepa
Paradox” or the “Erosion Paradox” was an applied
concept that the Yutilian politicians recognized. By
not being as aggressive as the other clan
counterparts, they were missing out on key worlds
that could supply their fleets. Expansion of their
clan was slower than the others, and it was
theoretically possible that a combined all-out
assault by the Aksren and Shal’rein fleets would
easily obliterate the Yutilians within thousands of
years. Efforts to combat this were done as more
and more negotiations would be run but had
varied results. The success of the Pagu’Lo’Tren
would help usher the creation of New Atrea, the
capital of the Yutilian clans that would last to this
day. The era of no wars was mostly in due thanks
because of the clan efforts. Experiments into
various political sciences were looked into as well
by the various colonies that even last to this very
day.
After the destruction of the Alara’jal, the
Yutilians would be the ones to push for peace. The
Magneirepa Paradox is still looked at as an
inevitability and profound fear among the people.
With three species left, the Yutilian clan could be
next to become extinct. By then, the strategy of
the clan was defensive warfare. Engage only if an
invasion or raid upon the space would occur. This
decision was nothing like the Yutilian patterns in
the last tens of thousands of years ago. Expansion
had stagnated, and if it weren’t for the stagnant
growth of the other clans of the other species,
then the Yutilian clan was going to be in deep
trouble. However, defensive warfare did prove to
work a lot in favor of the clan. Most of the
victories of the Yutilians were for the very fact
that they let the enemy come to them. As the
Aksren and Shal’rein clans would fight each other,
they would bleed each other as the Yutilians used
their lesser resources to rebuild and beef up their
defensive capability. In the last two hundred
years, it proved to work.
During the conflict with the Emphra, the
Yutilians were just as dumbfounded as the other
clans. An alien invasion that was liquid in its
native state and destroyed all life. Distrust
towards each other was just as heavy as the other
species, but the Yutilians knew they had a
particular advantage with this historic event.
There was a possibility to combat the Magneirepa
Paradox in the long-term run. By having the clans
work together, a new applied government could
be installed that would sue for peace for all clans.
Everyone would be working together, and there
would be less need to wipe out another species in
the far future. Careful and cautious, the Yutilians
decided to join the Shal’rein the moment that they
suggested an alliance could be made to stop the
Emphra. It even surprised the Shal’rein of how
quickly they did so. This didn’t mean that the
alliance was a cozy one, but one of necessity. The
Emphra had to be wiped out. This would encourage
the Aksren to eventually join the alliance to
eliminate the Emphra once and for all.
24th Century History
The Yutilians, upon the closing of the
Emphra War, had looked into politics with
profound interest. To them, they found the idea of
a United Itrean Empire or Republic to be more
beneficial to them than the other clans ever
concluded. They also saw another opportunity as
well, and that was cohesion. Politicians in the clan
were more open to change than in the last ten
thousand years. Their political views were leaning
more and more toward a democratic system. Even
by now, many of the parliamentary systems were
reorganized, and kingdoms were all but in name
only. Another prospect of what they looked at was
“Refuge Advantage.”
What surprised the other clans was the fact
that many families displaced from the Emphra
needed new homes to go to. The Yutilians offered
these Aksren and Shal’rein families the
opportunity to live in their space. It was a difficult
but possible achievement to go with, which the
other clans willingly decided to do. The population
was reluctant, but many families that moved to
live with the Yutilians commented that “It could
have been worse, but a clan species that see us as
an ally is far better than ones that see us as the
enemy.” In time, the children born from these
refuge families would swear absolute allegiance to
the Yutilians. A melting pot had occurred in which
Shal’rein and Aksren would consist of almost 18%
of the population in the next thirty years.
Shal’rein, raised in Yutilian worlds, became
commando and elite troopers to fight alongside
Yutilian soldiers. Aksren raised in the clan also
offered their services in other ways. More
Shal’rein and Aksren lived in the Yutilian clan than
Yutilians that lived in the other clan worlds.
As the United Itrean Empire or Republic was
constructed, the name of T’rintar was adopted. No
longer did the Yutilians actually call themselves
the “Yutilian Clan,” but a part of the new unity.
While this was the same with the other clans, the
Yutilians still recognized that a majority of the
population was Yutilian. The name stuck, and the
people used the term more openly as the years
progressed.
It is said that the former Yutilian worlds
were the most comfortable with the new united
government. A form of democracy had been
established that was becoming more and more
recognized in time. If peace was the result of such
a decision, then it didn’t matter if it existed or not
as long as it functioned. The people were not fools,
however. Politicians could easily see that it was
falling apart from within. In the act of desperation,
the Yutilians did offer a series of reforms to keep
the government, but the other clans withdrew
from it. War was coming. Ironically, many of these
reforms would still be passed through, even if it
was two-thirds empty. As a last act of
stubbornness by the population, the Yutilian clan
decided to rename themselves the T’rintar clan as
a vestige of hope in seeing the trinity of Itrean
species again.
Regardless, the T’rintar clan are not
pacifists in any way and won’t bend over to other
demands from the other clans. Politicians still
adhere to the demands of their voters, especially
more so than it was in the previous years. Great
efforts were made to ready the fleets and standby
to engage in another “Defensive War” against the
other clans.
Current T’rintar clan Flag Emblem
The Yutilians of today look nothing like their
descendants, but some things did survive in their
evolution. Their feathers, tails, and short stature
are just one of them. The bottom picture is a perfect
example of a “Current Yutilian” after hundreds of
thousands of years of evolutionary changes and a
“Fumil” that is much closer to the original
descendants of Velociraptors of former Earth. The
female Fumil lack breasts and still lay eggs. Artwork
