The Study of Sex and Gender Equality in the 24th
Century Page 1 (NSFW)
“As we reach the zenith to the 24th century, the
human race has had a long and bumpy ride when
it comes to sex and equality. We can’t argue
against it. Without sex, we cease to exist.” Wu
Loulin, 23rd Century Sexologist.
There is no doubt that the history of sex is
one that can fill volumes in public libraries and
internet databases alike. The concept follows
more than just reproduction, but the act of unity
between couples, both married and unmarried
alike. It can lead to the procreation of children
and serve as a method of recreation at the same
time. However, as one can delve into this one
particular topic, there is more to it than just
that. The history of sex can easily revolve that
into the realm of how gender equality can occur.
History of Sex
By the time it hit the 21st century, the
human race had full access to the World Wide
Web. Things that were hard to obtain by
literature or video alike were now much more
accessible. Pornography was suddenly more
available, and the expression of sex was also
dramatically changed. Suddenly, large portions
of the world had access to this sort of material
and had societal impacts at the same time.
Genders could easily see how they behaved in
cohesion with the other.
The expression of gender was, for some
time, generally looked at as between a man and
woman. However, by the 21st century, this was
expanding into more and more realms. While
easily more stated by the 24th century, the 21st
century was just in the early stages of such a
revolution. Of course, the male and female
gender still heavily dominate the spectrum of
24th-century populations, but there is much more
respect.
The 21st century still had much in the realm
of repression. Those who were gay (the gender
that preferred being with the same gender) or
bisexual (those with no preference between the
male or female gender) were still facing
repression by various societies on former Earth.
Laws would limit such marriages, and at times,
some couples could be punishable by death upon
being caught. However, this didn’t mean that
the 21st century was a vicious time period for
non-heterosexual romances. If anything, it was
the other way around. Prior to the 21st century, it
was worse, and as time continued to move
forward, this minority would be less repressed
and openly respected equally by societies,
cultures, and governments alike.
Sex itself would continue to face some
changes over time. One of the growing issues
with sex was the process of reproduction. What
was described as the “Malthusian Theory” was a
well-known concept that the human race was
growing at a phenomenal rate in the course of a
hundred years. Its population had grown so fast
that the resources needed to care for it were
almost unavailable. This could lead to
destabilization in societies, famine, violence,
and conflict, as the resources were needed to
care for such a growing population. Another
ever-increasing issue as far as the late 20th
century and early 21st century was the event of
global warming and the rise of pollution. With a
heavier population, there was a growing trend in
the lack of respect for the environment. Even if
some cared, many did not.
It was later determined in the 23rd century
that the human race was hit with bad luck from
the very start. Earth, even for a habitable
planet, was actually pretty small when
compared to other worlds. The heavy amount of
water made land sparse as well. However,
humanity has been aware of its problems of
growing population density, the rise of
pollution, and global warming. Efforts were
made to stem the tide on all fronts, even if some
felt that it was too little or too late. Sex was
more than just reproduction. Humanity was one
of the few species on the planet that looked at it
as a source of recreation and bonding that can
be made between a couple or group. This was
way more apparent by 21st century standards as
it was reflected in literature, media, and sources
alike. Love never changes and remains as it is
looked upon, the same as in the 24th century.
Despite significant efforts, Earth’s fate
was sealed. The planet’s environment had been
altered too much. The population, even with
technological innovations, had reached its peak.
Sources are undetermined at this point as the
information was lost, but some speculation
claimed that Earth’s population was anywhere
from 10 billion to 20 billion people by the time it
hit the early 22nd century. The land and waters
were heavily polluted to the point of
unsustainability, and resources were
questionable to feed the population. Nations
would rise and fall over and over again.
Eventually, the bacteria simply named “The
Orange Muck” would ultimately lay claim over
Earth’s waters and oceans. It is believed that by
2140, the human race would be poisoned to
death by its own environment and past actions.
Sex and gender equality would face
enormous challenges during the 22nd century.
While there were way more freedoms than ever
before, there was a recourse by the societies
that this was also to blame for the collapse of
Earth’s eco structure. The real issue was also the
fact that Earth had to be abandoned as
technological innovation made things easier to
transgress to Mars. The Earth to Mars Exodus
would see new challenges in love and equality.
The population had been reduced to about 5
billion in number, and suddenly, laws had been
placed to limit the creation of children to help
ensure that resources could be made available
to feed them. If further destabilization occurred
in the evacuation, then the human race would
further decline in number. Sexual intercourse
was not limited by law but faced the challenges
of space and lack of gravity. Of course, there
were ways to challenge such limitations. Simple
implementation of bed structures, devices, and
medicinal supplements could make intercourse
just as easy to do on the ground as in space. On
Mars, those limitations were all but mute.
Regardless, the evacuation to Mars was
the one that had the heaviest impact on sexual
performance. Some historians argue that overall
morale had dropped significantly, resulting in
much lesser performances in turn. There were
some impacts, however. The divorce rate was
actually low, and many stated that long-term
relationships had been actually higher when
compared to 21st century standards.
Great efforts were made to salvage and
save pornography just as much as other media-
related topics. Two super-powered quantum
computer cores power the UWAN system to help
save the data from being lost. On Mars, the
crowded conditions of the canyon cities made
things difficult. Laws limiting children from
being born were never lifted. At the same time,
the new government had to debate on laws or
limitations on homosexuality and bisexuality.
Technically, the issue of gender equality wasn’t
a difficult one as most societies had long
adapted to it. However, some areas of former
Earth still practiced great variations of gender
and sexual inequality and were still a part of the
cultural bias. With the population move, the
government recognized that gender equality
was more important. There was little for the
United Martian Government to argue against as
it published its law and thesis stating that…
“The Martian Government sees no point in
undermining the freedoms of each gender or
those of non-gender in how they engage with
each other in love. There will be no laws limiting
marriages, coupling, or group issues unless it
leads to the direct harm of the partners within
the partnership….”
The argument would essentially bar all
societal laws that banned gay marriages or
bisexual marriages. It was even possible for
polygamous marriages to occur as well, even if
such events were rare. Further laws would also
support gender equality. There were no laws
limiting men, women, or nongender from
serving onboard warships, frontline marine
units, and ground forces alike. Even the
terminology would undergo many
transformations as well. Supposedly, by the
time of the Gabatrix experiment, there were
almost no issues pertaining to gender equality
in the UHN.
Despite the hardships of the early 23rd
century, sex was still seen as a source of
recreation. It served as a system of relieving
stress and hardship. Even if children were
limited, the act of intercourse was not. A
growing trend that traveled as far back as the
late 21st century was that of “Companion Bots.”
Androids, advanced robotics that can endanger
human jobs, and advanced AIs were barred, but
this didn’t limit sex bots from being created. If
anything, there was a strong trend in the desire
to have them. Advanced enough, robots could
assist in child-rearing and even served as a
viable platform in limiting the creation of
children since robots lacked wombs to create
them in the first place. If a man or woman didn’t
have a living partner, it was all but certain that
they had a robotic partner. The simple AI cores
were programmed to interface and interact with
them.
Laws still had to be placed on how
companion bots operated. Technically, they
were not looked at as alive and a product of
human nature that such laws were put into
place, to begin with. While they could be made
to look like humans, they had to be limited in
how they thought and operated. Fears of a
“Robot Rebellion” or “AI Rebellion” were all too
prevalent. Even artificial wombs were barred
from being worked upon for prolonged periods.
Each companion bot could be attuned to how the
human wanted them to be and what capabilities
that they could be suited for. For many humans,
companion bots were the only viable source of
love and the preferred way of searching for
companionship.
It wouldn’t be until the Gabatrix
Experiment that sex would face a new
awakening. With the advent of access to gate
folding technology, the ability to find new
worlds was available. Cebravis would probably
see the most remarkable revival in sex and
sexual morale. It is commonly referred that
many of the Martians that arrived went into the
deep forests of the planet with their romantic
partners to have sexual intercourse and make
love. Sexual tension had been high on Mars, and
it became a release on Cebravis. Within a course
of ten years, Cebravis was looked at as a sexual
paradise. “Free love” that was more revealed in
the 1960s on former Earth was all but apparent
on this planet. It is no surprise that media
related to sex and pornography had almost all
but came from Cebravis in the 23rd and 24th
centuries. Nude beaches, sexual expression, and
overall sex performance had been at an all-time
high.
Of course, the laws on having children had
remained but did see some changes on Cebravis.
Fear of turning the new world into former Earth
was in everyone’s minds, including those that
regularly practiced free love. Respect for the
environment had been absolutely paramount,
but the number of children that a couple was
raised from one child to two. The “No more than
two” rule is often criticized for many reasons,
but it had more freedoms than the previous
stricter laws had. Mars would eventually follow
suit and raise the number to two as well, with
current debates being discussed on getting rid
of the rules completely. With access to new
worlds, many of the fears of limiting children
are a complete attempt to limit civil liberties.
Among one of the largest criticisms of
Cebravis’s rules is the process known as gender
ratio imbalance. Couples, even in the 24th
century, have had a preference for having boys.
Even with gender equality at its peak, there are
still past beliefs that having a boy is more
important than having a girl. While laws
recognize the possibility of incriminating gender
infanticide (Where a mother purposely has
abortions based on the gender of the child), this
hasn’t stopped couples from having more boys.
It has been more regularly seen that if the first
child is a girl, then the couple will try to have
another child to have a boy. If the first child is a
boy, then the couple might not have another
child. This sociological study has been one of the
firm beliefs that the 24th century has faced a
higher male population. This gender ratio
imbalance, even with gay and bisexual
freedoms, has still left a sizeable heterosexual
male population devoid of women that want the
opposite sex. The ratio stands at about 58% men
and 42% women. This results in higher tensions
of competitions between men that are trying to
find a woman to get married to and find dates.
One of the biggest revolutions in sex was
also the UWAN. With the advent of the United
World’s Alliance creation, the United World’s
Alliance Network was created. Using gate
folding technology, solar systems were
connected together in a vast galaxy system
online network. Media, including adult
entertainment, was also readily accessible, just
as the internet was back on former Earth. UWAN
dating and marriages were easily attainable and
always provided help in each person finding the
preferred mate or relationship. In fact, UWAN
dating was essentially so popular that it
contributed to 95% of known marriages in some
form or fashion.
As the UWA continues into the 24th
century, medical technology continues to help
push forward the limits of sexual performance.
Not only is augmentation more readily
available, but sexual impedance is almost all but
mute by this time. Sexual diseases and STDs
have practically been eliminated. Immune
systems are also strengthened as well to handle
the hardships that intercourse can bring upon
the body. Surgeries and augmentation have also
proven to be of great improvements to sexual
performance, although people have to be
reminded of the “No more than 10% rule” in
regards to augmentation limits to the human
body.

Minerva arc*
The events that led to the creation of the
super-intelligent advanced AI known as Minerva
was one that led to numerous changes and
acknowledgment in human society. The AI was
created by Doctor Ericson and was based on a
basic companion bot AI core that had been
attuned regularly to become what “she” is now.
The end result of such a creation has
brought the issues of companion bots back into
fruition. Should companion bots be able to have
higher intelligence? Should they be able to
operate like Minerva and have artificial wombs
to have children as she did? All these debates
raged after her actions in trying to save her
child from being terminated. Laws and decisions
had to be made and the political choices made
were careful when it came to Minerva. She was
recognized that she was “alive” by having her
operational life limited. This would allow her to
have the same rights as human beings, including
procreation. Her child would be left to her care
to raise with no limitations. For some, Minerva’s
ruling was one that has pushed a growing
desired movement to have similar operations on
their companion bots even if resistance to it is
firm. It has been an ever-present issue that
remains to this day.
*Spoilers if you haven’t read past Gabatrix: The
First Peace arc*
With the discovery and alliance of the
Itrean clan known as the T’rintar, there was a
sudden shock to the system of human relations,
sex, and love itself. It has been known as the
“24th-century sexual revolution,” much as the
UWAN and Gabatrix Experiment had done in the
23rd century. With a powerful disease that wiped
out the males of their species, the Itreans have
been left without male companionship and
mates. Drastic action has been made in their
society to save themselves from inevitable
extinction, including alliances with those that
are willing to engage in mateship with them.
Humanity already had a number of viable men
and women that were interested in engaging in
relations with the alien women. Of course, even
for the Itreans, this would have been a time that
it would have been almost unheard of.
For the Itreans, their history of sex and
gender history has been that of much mystery.
The topic can be so broad that it can be almost
impossible to narrow it down. From what human
scholars now know, it has been indicated that
females were sometimes the leaders and
soldiers. This hasn’t meant that some Itrean
species had a form of patriarchy established.
Most of the time in former Empires, males did
rule the spectrum and society of civilizations. It
truly depended on the time and location.
Various religions had practiced different forms
of sexual activity or none at all—beliefs on how
gender equality varied greatly.
When the planet of Cebravis was
colonized, it didn’t take long for
strings of nude beaches to appear.
Medicine and Augmentations make sexual
intercourse ever the more pleasant for
couples
Sex in zero gravity is more than possible.
Strap beds and other medications are
always available for space travelers.
Different genders do exist in the 24th
century even if male and female are still a
common usage in termonology.
Compared to the 20th century, men and
women have better libidos. Longer
sustained orgasms and having multiple
ones in a row are more common than ever.
