Uttu (NSFW)

One of the oldest known civilizations to survive the ravages of history and nature are the Sumerians. The Sumer was an ancient civilization that lies in Mesopotamia or Southern Iraq. Much like any other civilization, the Sumerian deities are probably remembered as one of the oldest known mythics to exist. Among one of them is Uttu, but who is she and what did she do? The recorded history of the Sumerians are old and fractured. This often is tricky for scholars to put together of their past and what does survive ends up becoming mysticism, guesses, and approximations of what their civilization believed in. Among the many line of deities in the Sumerians is the god Enki. Enki the god of water is a major god that even his name En means "lord" in their language with ki being "Earth" that he would be associated with a god of the groundwater. In some portions of the story of Enki, he would be the father to the great hero Marduk. Uttu was a daughter to Enki and Ninhursag. It is interesting to note that Uttu was often represented as a spider god and the goddess of weaving. This seemingly made sense since spiders could craft intriguing webs. Their ability to craft clothing from their silk made sense. There can be some similarities drawn up to how she is even similar to characters such as Arachne that was also revered as a weaving character but was turned into a spider by Athena for outperforming her in crafting clothing. There was one major problem with Enki however. Enki was the sort of character that enjoyed seducing his daughters. One day Uttu got word that her father intended to do the same to her. In self defense, she tried to wrap herself up in her silk to protect herself but Enki was relentless. It would ultimately end as Enki tried to rape his own daughter. Uttu let out a scream and her mother came to her daughter's rescue. Uttu shaken up after the ordeal had her mother help her out. She even went as far as to remove the sperm from her vagina as she planted it in the ground to grow new plants in turn. In Tales of Heroes, this story continues on and there is lasting consequences to the event. Uttu felt violated from her father. She decided to take up additional magic to help protect herself and never let it happen again. Being a goddess of weaving, a goddess of light and dark, Uttu was the balance of day. There is speculation that Uttu is the brother or half brother of Marduk and that she momentarily helped him during his adventurous campaigns. However, one of the most important legacies of Uttu was discovering the Crystal of Ve, a powerful tool that granted any non human deity/mythic the ability to turn human if they didn't have the ability to begin with. This valuable crystal and her vast age made her one of the more important figures in the creation of the Coalition of Deities thousands and thousands of years before it was ever considered. Uttu may be one of the older to oldest surviving mythics on Earth, but immortality has its price. Among one major weakness of ancient gods are the ability to remember things. It is natural for a human mortal to remember what he or she had for dinner the day before but a week or month later and that knowledge is lost. Ancient gods suffer from this same problem as well. Unless things are recorded, most things simply become forgotten. Uttu often lives in a world that she barely remembers. She knows the world is different from what it was long before but can't compare things well. There are other spider gods on Earth. Among one noted spider god is the god Anansi, an African spider god. In Tales of Heroes, Uttu is actually the mother of Anansi after a relationship she had from an African god. While the relationship didn't last forever, Uttu's legacy had been contained even among the Coalition of Deities. Like anything else, Uttu does find the occasional human mortal to spend time with over the thousands of years. Even a mortal marriage is a flicker of time for her. She does have her challenges though when it comes to sex. Thankfully, everything is there in the front for her but this often means that the men she spends time with have to adapt to how she does it. On some occasions she would have to squat down on her eight legs as the man is on the ground which is painful after a time for her or lay down on her partner which can put too much weight on the man. Among one method is using her spider silk to wrap her partner up around herself as he is inside her. This way she can stand up easily with her partner still inside her. It is not uncommon for her to use this method to keep her lovers close to her while she moves around and enjoys the moment. With a simple slash, she can easily cut the spider silk from herself and her partner when they need to do something separate. Whatever the case maybe, Uttu is a character that is here to stay as humanity struggles to learn more of its past before it is lost forever. Uttu is a lasting legacy of an ancient civilization when mankind barely had anything to begin with.
