Taweret (NSFW)

Taweret. Probably considered one of the more interesting aspects in Egyptian folklore and religion, Taweret is considered to be a myriad of different species mixed into one goddess to become one of the more well remembered deities in ancient Egypt. The question is how did such a character originate in one of the older recorded civilizations of mankind? Unfortunately her initial origins are a mystery but her stories were told about her nonetheless. Statues of her were everywhere of this unique goddess. Initially, one story depicts Taweret as the husband of Apep, a powerful and dangerous snake creature that only came out at night. Taweret's reputation was seemingly tainted and looked at as an demoness that accompanied an evil creature. Apep would eventually be defeated by the Egyptian Gods but Taweret's reputation changed drastically as years and years passed. In other stories Taweret was looked as a guardian for those that passed away to safely reach the underworld. Afterward Taweret would be viewed as a deity of childbirth, fertility, and defender of motherhood. Some stories she was depicted as a wife or concubine to the other Egyptian gods. The word Taweret would mean many words such as the Great Female, the Sow, or the Harem. Some believe that all these stories eventually just merged together to form who she was and what she did. Regardless of who she was and her past, perhaps the Egyptians simply just liked her and what she represented. The Egyptians have a plethora of animal deities, but Taweret is unique nonetheless. Egyptians had respect for the hippo and they did have hippo deities that they worshiped. Being part hippo and part alligator and sometimes part lioness, Taweret is often depicted as either tall and powerful, fat and pudgy, or pregnant. Some statues depict her as pregnant with large breasts much like a fertility statue of other cultures. Pregnancy long long ago was often something that was more dangerous for women (like dying from childbirth) compared to modern medicine of today that can make pregnancies safer and easier for women. With such potential hazards and the desire to become mothers, Egyptian women were known to wear charms and pendants of Taweret in hopes for her blessing for a safe pregnancy. It isn't to say that Taweret held the monopoly on fertility and childbirth though as their were other deities that helped in that line as well. Some art depicts the protector Bes along with her that also helped protected households and children from harm. In Tales of Heroes, Taweret had a proud history with her. Happy and cheerful of the world around her, Taweret is the most powerful and capable fertility and child rearing goddess among the mythics. Taweret is a mother herself to actual lesser known Egyptian deities such as Meţni, Ahti, and Opet (Ipy). While she hates to fight in the Coalition of Deities, Taweret does everything she can to help in other means instead. Taking on the role of morale welfare, she along with Hathor are known to throw lavish parties for the mythics to come and relax and enjoy life. She has often been seen with other gods and has had her share of them of the thousands of years of Egyptian history including the bedchambers and if she doesn't, she goes to human mortals instead. Like most fertility deities, Taweret was kept in the rear lines with the fight against Cataclysm that was wiping out the gods and mythics. Slowly as the mythics were getting wiped out even some fertility deities were thrown to go and fight against Cataclysm. Thankfully Taweret was not one of them but she would witness her children that would go and fight and never return from it. Cataclysm was defeated and Taweret devastated, did not want to have children herself for hundreds and hundreds of years in turn. What many consider to be the more useless magics however is surprisingly the most important though. She might not have had a child for almost a thousand years but it still didn't stop other gods and mythics that came to her in the search to become pregnant themselves. With so many different species of characters, having a child is actually very challenging regardless of how good you are in bed. No one is compatible and mythics that want to have children with human mortals for example can only be achieved in some cases with the assistance of magic. Taweret like many of the Fertility mythics are often called upon to use their magic to achieve conception. The Hippo goddess is always more than willing to lend her magic to help them out. The principals of this magic is relatively simple, one: both the man and the woman must have sex and the man climaxes inside the woman. Two: it needs to be recent. Sperm lasts inside the body for a couple of days but the sooner the better. If the seed is not compatible then the fertility magic changes that to make it compatible. If the body itself cannot conceive or properly maintain the growing baby in the body then the magic also fixes that. If the man can't produce sperm then the magic resolves that. Taweret is the best at this magic and she often boasts that if she can't do it then nobody can. Taweret also prides at being able to nurse and babysit the children of mythics as well and been known to help nurse the young of mothers that can't properly lactate for their children which even Taweret's magic can also help even in that as well. At a time when the mythics have been reduced to such shear low numbers the hippo goddess is actually one of the most important mythics out there in trying to replace the lost numbers in the hundreds of years to come. Taweret herself would be called upon one of her more challenging assignments with helping out the Yuki family as the many many children of rats all clamor to have children of their own. While the Yuki rats are capable of producing children with human men, the male rats cannot conceive with human women in turn. While this was not an issue as the female rat population was significantly higher than the male population, many of the male rats of the same family were simply infertile and were begging for help to alleviate this problem as it made them unpopular as pups. Males were looked at as nothing but a waste of space to mothers except taking care of other tasks that nobody else wanted. Taweret was called upon to help this out but in her attempt to use her magic, even that did not work. The imperfect magic that was used to make the Yuki more human like was also dampening the male rats ability to produce children of their own that could not be fixed by Taweret's magic. She was left with one option. Taweret is most powerful when she is pregnant herself. During the times she had children of her own, her own pregnancy amplified her powers and she could do things she normally couldn't. During the hundreds of years she simply felt no need to have children or desired to be any more powerful than she needed to be. Being pregnant meant that she would end up having another child which she herself was hesitant. However, other mythics were calling upon her and this was what she was good at. If she couldn't do it then no one could. She made her decision and she decided that she needed to be more powerful if she was going to help the Yuki. She needed to return back to the glory days of her more powerful self. She needed to become a mother herself once again....... She turned to the Yuki for they could help her and she could help them in return. Taweret was already respected among the Yuki and they knew she needed help herself to resolve this dilemma. One couple by the name of Dexter and Reiko volunteered to help Taweret out. Reiko on her third pregnancy already had a male pup of her own and she already knew the dilemma her son would face as he grew older. She asked her husband to impregnate the goddess to help their son and of course help them in turn. For Dexter he had no issue as long as his wife was beside him and Taweret herself is always happy to have her share of sexual fun and excitement that she always has. Of course for Taweret, her abilities in child rearing and fertility are unparalleled compared to others. She can even control how long her own pregnancy can take place just to keep herself more powerful. Some of her pregnancies can last five hundred years if need be before she goes into labor if she wants to just to keep feeding on the additional power it gives her. In true Egyptian mythology and statues that depict her, the hippo goddess is seen holding the sign of "sa" the sign of protection. Her magic as a defender of motherhood and protector for children and child rearing is obvious. After the time with Dexter and Reiko, Taweret would use the magic on herself to make herself pregnant. Feeling the new power flow through her, she uses her power to help others in matters of desire in having children. She now has the power to resolve any issue in regards to pregnancy. Once again she can watch as the sign of "sa" flashes in her hands. Her powers are strong enough that she can permanently alter the bodies of individuals to allow them to have children of other species much like whoever altered the Yuki in the beginning. The demands for her powers is considerable and more important than ever. No longer do couples come and ask to become impregnated but to have their bodies adjusted to have as many children as they want with their mate/lover. Regardless of who you are, it is not uncommon for mixed species to celebrate in joy as they can have large families together. Taweret in months to come would watch her belly swell and she would slow the gestation to the tiniest of crawls. For Dexter he would never live long enough to see the child born from Taweret but he was important for the process to begin. He would be a father of many children from his wife that was obvious. Maybe in five hundred years Reiko would eventually see Taweret give birth to this child and maybe Taweret would return back to the desire to become pregnant again to continue her work. Only time will tell. For if she can't do it then no one can.
