New Olympia
“As of the beginning of the new age, we depart
from this moon. Our ventures take us to the great
world where we can remain away from future
Martian and Earth endeavors. There we return to
what we are….what we truly are.” Regency Priest
Ptah 2265 AD.
Of many of the universe's great mysteries,
one has been overly portrayed than that of the
colony of New Olympia. The most extraordinary
rumors, stories, and various opinions remain of
this location. There seems to be an adequate
amount of information, yet, there isn’t. It’s a
people that seem to have great resources, but at
the same time, remain oddly quiet about it. Only a
delve into its history can reveal anything about
who they are.
Origins
The legacy of the planet supposedly comes
from a religious organization that thrived on Luna.
While the inhabitants of Earth’s moon would call
themselves Lunarians, the religious group that
spawned from it would be called Lunarism.
Lunarism had a belief that focused on the moon,
proclaiming it as the hidden paradise. Even if Luna
had very little to offer, the group would
continuously remain for some time. It would reach
millions in numbers and rarely leave. Their
concentrated underground cities were supposedly
relaxed and comfortable.
Yet, the stories of this group are contested.
Numerous attempts to learn about this religious
group have warranted little information. While the
data is there on the surface, many felt that there
was more to them that they led onto. Lunarism
was never a significant religion, although they
were quite solidified. Some viewed them as
another odd and perplexing system of beliefs that
valued harmony and family, while others saw
them as coquettish and misleading. It was not
uncommon that male bachelors were sometimes
called upon to join up the ranks as the female
population of the organization was much higher.
The secrecy held within was that people’s names
would be changed at times. The Lunarists or
Lunarans would keep families of those former
bachelors away for prolonged time periods.
Lunarism would survive for one hundred and
twenty years until the Gabatrix Experiment was
made. Upon the great discovery, the Lunarists
surprised some when they announced that their
religion would be no more. Altogether, they would
pack up their belongings and move out of Luna.
While Mars was building up its colony fleet, the
religious group would further surprise the Martian
and Luna defenses as they revealed their great
ark. The Lunaran Ark was an enormous vessel that
seemingly came out of nowhere. It was over seven
hundred meters in length and could carry a
sizeable amount of people. Many wondered how
the Lunarans had managed to have the vessel
constructed. The resources to have it built would
have been incredible and perhaps unbelievable.
Yet, the mystery would be mostly on hold. At the
time, most of the Martian population had their
sights on settling on Cebravis. If the Lunarans
wanted to find some new world to settle on, then
it was best to let them.
The former religious group claimed that they
had found a world in the star system Gliese 1061, a
virtually uninhabitable location. It consists of
three planets that hover close to an unstable red
dwarf star. The heavy solar flares rake the
surfaces and irradiate all life from potentially
developing. The flarestar is even more hostile
towards the two closest planets. Gliese 1061c was
chosen as the future location. There, the Lunaran
Ark supposedly made several trips to this new
world. Within ten years, the population had been
fully deported from Luna. The original homes were
left completely vacant and left for the other
Lunarians to live and utilize. From there, any
further attempts to contact the growing colony
failed.
In the 2280s and the establishment of the
UWA, the Martian and Cebravin worlds would get a
curious contact from Gliese 1061. The new colony
of Lunarism had fully established itself as a stable
colony, at least supposedly. When Mars would
launch a delegation team to evaluate it, they were
shocked to find a fleet of super dreadnoughts in
orbit. As it was known, the great white fleet was
the only true hint of the power that the colony
had. The Lunarists had renamed themselves as the
New Olympians. It was a name reminiscent of
Greek Mythology.
Yet, very little remained. Early visits showed
that a city had been established deep within Gliese
1061, but how they managed to create such
enormous vessels remained a mystery. The planet
essentially served as a shield to keep the wayward
visitor from seeing deep within. Only the
enormous hatches of the interior surface would
lead deep inside.
The New Olympians were welcomed into the
UWA along with the other colonies, but their
mysticism remained. The original Ark used to ferry
their people remained in orbit with their fleet of
warships. While registered in the UHN service, the
New Olympians refused to send their ships on
companion voyages with the Martian warships.
Recent History
While much is unknown, New Olympia has
some things they have done in the last hundred
years. Among one of them is serving as a marriage
platform. Supposedly, there are more women
there. Tourism is allowed in areas of the early
access region of the main entrance hatch. It has
been mentioned that the New Olympian people
have a preference in wanting men, especially
those that are single. Dating websites are not
uncommon, and it does allow some men a chance
to find women that are single and interested in
having families.
Another significant factor that New Olympia
has played along with is being an adoption world.
Being dubbed the “Orphan Planet,” the colony
vows that any children that don’t have a family in
the UWA are more than welcome on New Olympia.
Oshun would be just one of those colonies that
would offer their children to the planet for
providing better homes and shelter.
However, the mystery of New Olympia has
often put the colony at a disadvantage. This would
include the fact that many of these bachelors
would be kept away from their families back at
home. While it wasn’t always the case, having to
arrange times for the married couples to see
mothers and fathers from their home colonies has
proven difficult. At the same time, the lack of
information on the adoption agencies often forced
numerous investigations if the children are well
taken care of. According to the reports, the
children are properly treated in their homes, yet, it
still seems to leave some unconvinced. Again, the
resources of the New Olympians are seemingly
vast when it isn’t possible. However, this hasn’t
stopped the wayward bachelor/dating sites or
adoption agencies from sprouting up through the
UWA.

First Peace arc*
When the war with the Itreans had begun,
the New Olympians refused to send their fleet
away from their planet. This was much to the
dismay of the UHN. Infuriated, many questioned
New Olympia’s purpose on why they had made
such a choice. While some questioned the
oversized warships as simple railgun shooters,
some felt that any asset could significantly save
the human race from annihilation. The New
Olympians were stubborn. According to them, the
need to protect their world was paramount, but
this wasn’t their excuse before the encounter with
the Itreans. Instead, the UHN simply had to endure
the disobedience and continue forth anyway.
However, it appeared that the New Olympians had
successfully repelled two assaults from the
Shal’rein clan within a month. Unfortunately, the
information on these battles was vague and
perhaps misleading.
However, while seemingly neutral in the
conflict, the New Olympians did a number of
actions. For one, they offered their gate array to
allow the UHN Gabatrix to traverse to the meeting
point for the upcoming alliance treaty between
the UWA and T’rintar clan. The original fear at the
time was that the Itreans might be able to track
where the entrance apertures of the gates. New
Olympia promised that any retaliatory Itrean
fleets on New Olympia would be dealt with. When
the captain had to sacrifice the Gabatrix to save
the peace talks, the New Olympians took it to
their responsibility to ensure the peace
negotiations would continue. Fleet Admiral Yuki
would personally travel in her warship to
safeguard and escort the delegation team to Earth.
Shortly afterward, she would return back to New
Olympia. It was actually some of the first major
actions committed by the colony and helped
establish an alliance between humanity and the
Itrean clan.

New Olympia would once again appear in the
spotlight, although much less this time when a
Shal’rein captain had defected to the UWA, her
first visit to the UWA was to go straight to New
Olympia. Her gamble paid off as the New
Olympians quickly dealt with her pursuers in
rather spectacular and unbelievable fashion.
According to her report and the saved kidnapped
officer, Javier, the New Olympians employed a
single dreadnought that obliterated the Shal’rein
attackers in one shot. Supposedly, the great
warships use technology that is far beyond UWA
norms. According to Shira, “The New Olympian
technology far surpasses that of known Itrean
technology. While their ships are few, they consist
of abilities that would make others think that they
were gods.”
The report, while staggering, has many that
question the validity of the reports. Some simply
can’t believe that the New Olympians have such
capabilities. The technology shouldn’t exist, and
yet they have it. Any further questions towards
them are met with stubborn refusal. The New
Olympians prefer to be left alone and act in a
fashion that only seems to benefit when they so
carefully choose to.
