The Kiline

*Spoilers if you haven't read past Gabatrix: The First Peace arc* “The First Ones. Gods…..Travelers…..Caretakers…..Overseerers…..Ci cerone…..Guides….All-knowing….” An Itrean Prophet’s quote of the Kiline. Of all the alien races to be known, the concept of the Kiline is one of mystery to that of outright myth. For the Itreans that believe them, it is more of faith rather than outright acknowledging them. The true question that human scholars evaluate is “What are the Kiline?” Other intelligent alien races discovered in the Itrean civilizations are very few and far between. This has led to a serious dilemma to the UWA analysts that almost conclude that, besides the Itreans, there are extremely remote chances of discovering new civilizations. Most of the reasons is a conglomeration. The Fermi Paradox is a renowned acceptation that the universe had very few intelligent civilizations that are just like the human or Itrean races. Even if one is found, the chances that they would be walking on two legs, have two arms, and breathe oxygen is extremely little. Even Earth’s history has been filled with the acknowledgement that not all human civilizations are exactly the same. When that is applied to other worlds and possible evolutionary patterns, the civilizations encountered might not even be acknowledged as one at all. Regardless, the galaxy isn’t a completely devoid empty barren place. Even the Itreans are aware of this and practice their own version of a non-interference unless the alien civilization they encounter proves to be openly hostile or outright serves as a valid possible threat. There is one alien race that has proven to be unknown including the mysteries of Itrea’s past. Among one was the advent discovery of gate folding technology. What has taken millions of years in evolution was one that proves to be pragmatic in how the Itreans were able to leave and travel to other systems. In other words, humans ask the question “Did the Itreans on Earth discover gate folding technology by dumb luck or was there some form of assistance?” Even the human race never invented gate folding technology, it was reverse-engineered and then incorporated into spaceships. With the finding of the Equatis Wreck on Mars, little did humanity believe that another intelligent alien race existed. The wreck was over millions of years old and had almost nothing to give in the whereabouts of its origins. Its only salvaging technology was gate folding technology which proved to be the greatest discovery ever known. Human scholars always try to analyze the question of where it came from and who made it. It wasn’t till the discovery of the Itreans and the fact that they had similar technology, concluded that it had to have been their technology that humanity reverse engineered. The Equatis Wreck could have simply been an Itrean vessel. However, that isn’t the ultimate conclusion either. There is little to no evidence to suggest that the Equatis Wreck is an ancient Itrean vessel. Analysis of the hull indicates that the metals were rather challenging to create, far beyond even human standards of the 21^st century. How did they manage to build this ship if the Itreans had truly developed space-faring vessels and had less technology than humanity? How did they have access to the technology that made interstellar travel so easy? According to the deepest forms of Itrean religions, such as the Itrea’Nolala’Ko, there was a written belief that visitors had gifted the Itreans with gate folding technology. Even if the religion is no longer practiced and barely accepted, there has been some credence to such an idea. Human scholars have been putting the beliefs and Itrean data together to try to come up with new conclusions even if they are considered bizarre. According to the oldest religion, these alien visitors might have never shown their faces but only left something for the Itreans to find. Ultimately, they had concluded that the race was known as the Kiline or “The First Ones.” In the millions of years of Itrean evolution and history, the myth of “The First Ones” would echo around the mythology for some time. To some Itreans, they never discovered gate folding technology and simply had it given to them to use freely. To others, they had simply invented it and started to use it without any help. There was almost no evidence to support this until something was found 31,000 years ago. It would be known as the Kiline Artifact. Measuring at three meters in height, it was a large metal cylinder made out of solid tritanium. It had one section of the corner that had been damaged from something catastrophic. On it was a pair of two etched dots and two curved lines that went from the bottom of the dots that go upward. The artifact is concluded to be artificial in origin, and carbon dating has shown that it's over 10 billion years old. Further analysis and evidence have concluded that this was created somewhere incredibly long ago. The Kiline Artifact has verified that there were other alien civilizations that existed way before the Itreans or Humanity, but other Itreans go further than this. To them, this artifact was created by the same race of people that gifted the Itreans with gate folding travel and possibly the humans as well. An attempt to further analyze the system that the artifact came from ended in failure as the star had long exploded and turned into a pulsar. Its radioactive system makes exploration impossible to explore as the planets remain out of reach. Even the best probes simply can’t reach it before they are rendered inoperable. For now, the Kiline are heavily analyzed by human scholars. Was it possible that other alien civilizations came into existence near the time of the universe’s birth? Many say that it is questionable as the heavier radiation and tighter star densities would fill some areas with so much radiation that life would have a terribly difficult time to evolve….at least with known evolving theories. Then again, there would still be areas of the universe that would allow life to develop. If these civilizations had time to evolve and spread themselves to other systems, they would progress to a technological point of unimaginable power. Billions of years is an enormous amount of time for civilizations to rise and fall. However, some of those civilizations could evolve to the point that they could perform actions that are considered impossible by the current Itrean and Human standards. Things like Type 1 (Harnessing the resources of a planet) and Type 2 Civilizations (Harnessing the resources of a solar system) are a possibility by the 24^th century, but was it possible to reach a Type 3 Civilization with the ability to harness the resources of a galaxy and beyond?
