Gu’ii’Lo’Trelda, Capital of the Kingdom of Gui’optre

*Spoilers if you haven’t read Gabatrix: The First Peace* “I’ve been to Gu’ii Lo Trelda a few times. No one can claim that it’s a degenerate world. The people have saved it from being a lost cause and will protect their home at all costs.” Henderson Jones, first human tourist to travel to Gu’ii Lo Trelda. History Upon reaching the era of “Old Space,” numerous worlds had been decimated and destroyed by Itrean savagery. Old Space marked the beginning of a time when warfare wouldn’t result in the immediate destruction of a colony or world. In other cases, a few planets had managed to persevere despite such atrocities. Among one of these prime worlds is that of Gu’ii Lo Trelda, the capital of the Kingdom of Gui’optre of the Yutilian clans. It represents one of the four major capital worlds despite the central capital of New Atrea. It is also one of the oldest known Itrean worlds in any clan history. The colonization of Gu’ii Lo Trelda had occurred as far as 270,000 years ago. Initially, it was never intended to serve as a place of importance. Much like the history of some worlds, including Renlar, the Kingdom of Gui’optre saw the planet as just another habitable location. It revolved around a K-Type star and had been considered to be a planet that was almost the size of Earth. While it had plenty of wildlife, it was the mineral-rich moons that the Gui’optre were after. However, it was decided upon colonization that Gu’ii Lo Trelda would adhere to a series of changes. The Kingdom of Gui’optre is an economic- focused Yutilian clan. Much like the Aksren clan that have their own empires oriented towards powerful markets, the Gui’optre hoped to see the planet become a trading post in their ever- expanding territories. If anything, even the name of Gu’ii Lo Trelda translates to that of “Gui’optre Trading Post Nine” in the older Itrean language. While the planet had been habited 220,000 years ago, many Yutilians had called the planet their home. The population rate had been increasing, and it had become a favored site for some of the Yutilian Lords that overruled the entire kingdom. Many viewed the location as prime real estate and has beautiful landscapes. Unfortunately, Gu’ii Lo Trelda would see an unfortunate assault by an Alara’jal warlord by the name of Kentajal Trojata. Kentajal’s fleets were quite powerful during the time period. They had managed to inflict some damage on a few Itrean worlds. This would also include the world of Gu’ii Lo Trelda. The Yutilian world refused to surrender during the attack, and the Alara’jal warlord responded by commencing heavy bombardment. Powerful cannons were used to shatter one-fifth of the planet with another round that scraped another portion of the northern hemisphere. The damage was catastrophic, leading to the deaths of billions of Yutilians. However, Kentajal didn’t manage to complete his assault before Yutilian reinforcements managed to destroy his siege dreadnoughts. It would end up saving the planet from complete destruction. However, the damage was done. There were debates that Gu’ii Lo Trelda should be abandoned, but it was decided to postpone the idea. The damage resulted in a fractured crust that affected most of the planet. While mass evacuations were made in the ensuing years, much of the world was still habitable. Rocks would rain down as many of the debris would come crashing down. This also placed the planet into a small ice age as efforts were made to contain the damage. The Kingdom of Gui’optre would have a vigorous debate upon whether to keep the planet or abandon it. However, the thinking of the time period was what saved it. The Era of “Dead Space” was coming to an end. In fact, Kentajal was one of the last ever to employ such powerful planet- killing weapons. Gu’ii Lo Trelda wasn’t a central capital world despite its usage. Its importance as a significant trading post, however, remained. It was decided to turn the planet into a major shipyard for the kingdom. Instead, many of the blown rocks were harvested and converted into raw building materials. According to the Itrean historians, many referred to the action as “An attempt to give Kentajal the middle finger.” The Yutilians of the Gui’optre devoted their lives to turn this planet into a significant manufacturing facility. The enormous “patch job,” as seen from orbit, covers a sizeable portion of where the shell struck. Technically, the massive megastructure of Gu’ii Lo Trelda would take a thousand years to complete but be finished by around 210,000 years ago. As more and more of the planet was “undergoing repairs,” the manufacturing capability was being expanded. To this day, the Kingdom of Gui’optre has gained what they had invested long ago. Up to 35% of the Yutilian merchant vessels were all manufactured from Gu’ii Lo Trelda. With such a large portion of the world devoted to ship and equipment production, many Yutilians claimed that Kentajal might have done a favor in the long run, even if many lives were lost in progress. Within 190,000 years ago, it was announced that the planet would become the new capital of the Kingdom of Gui’optre because of its strategic importance alone. Even if much of the mineral resources had been dried up, it doesn’t matter. Resources are imported to it, and the planet pumps out new vessels in return. Many compare Gui’optre’s capital as that of Renlar to the Aksren Empire of Yol’ikren. However, its industry wasn’t so oriented towards developing warships as its counterpart. It’s not surprising, though, that many view the planet as a central place for production. During the rise of Jalgren, it was under the intentions of the Aksren Emperor to conquer this world. He was well aware that to have this planet would result in a vast increase in his war machine capability. However, it was his goal to create as little damage as possible. If the Kingdom of Gui’optre resisted him, it could lead to the loss of a significant shipyard. It’s not surprising that Jalgren would look at conquering Gu’ii Lo Trelda last in his agenda despite how eager he was in wanting to take it. Instead, the planet would fuel the resistance against Jalgren’s fleets as they provided numerous warships for the Yutilian kingdom. However, despite this, Jalgren was well aware that Gui’optre wasn’t exactly an expert on battleship production. Most of the kingdom’s fleets were that of converted haulers and freighters that had been turned into warships. Their fighting capability was limited. It was Jalgren’s goal to limit access to the world as much as possible. He prioritized taking out the kingdoms that could offer the most resistance while ensuring that they couldn’t get access to Gu’ii Lo Trelda. It was a difficult task, but one that he managed to succeed rather well. By the time most of the Yutilian kingdom’s fleets were decimated, Gu’ii Lo Trelda was alone. The kingdom knew that fighting against Jalgren was pointless. While a valiant stand was made by the Kingdom of Gui’optre, the people of the planet knew that it was over. By now, Jalgren’s reputation of “sparing the lives of others” had been long said and proven. Gui’optre would surrender the capital to Jalgren, and it would help forge the beginning of Jalgren’s vast Itrean empire. Interestingly, Gu’ii Lo Trelda would be the last to join up in the Rototrein Rebellion 20,000 years later. The people had little to gain from the situation as they were still making enormous profits in the defunct empire. However, as they stood as the last conquered Yutilian Kingdom, they would be the last to join up in the fight. Many claimed that the reasons for ultimately joining up in the Rototrein Rebellion were to “save face” or “ensure that the kingdom received a rightful share of the dying empire.” The planet, much like the kingdom, did face a little bit of a rough start during the post-imperial era. However, the planet’s importance was still holding strong. It didn’t take long for the world to churn out freighters and vessels at an alarming rate, even with the advent of the star fortresses’ construction. In the recent 500 years, Gui’Lo Trelda has seen a bit of an uptrend. Their economy was considered to be the strongest of the four Yutilian kingdoms, and their freighters were often seen as viable warships when the kingdom needed them. It didn’t take long for many of these “dreadnought freighters” to prove well in combat. Much like their past, sometimes a simple large mobile missile launcher can achieve a goal that a well- rounded warship can complete as well. As the other Itrean clans united, Gui’Lo Trelda’s fleets made a worthwhile contribution to the other Yutilian kingdoms in repelling the Aksren, Alara’jal, and Shal’rein. During the time of the Emphra War, Gui’Lo Trelda suffered heavily. It was unknown if the Emphra prioritized taking the planet or not. However, it was believed that if the Emphra did take it, they would have had an entire shipyard in their arsenal. The planet had been assaulted seven times in the twenty years and resulted in heavy nuclear bombardment to prevent the Emphra from spreading. Over half of the population had perished from friendly fire and the Emphra itself. Massive damage had also been reported in most facility sections of the planet, further depleting important vessels from being delivered to the Yutilian clan. However, ultimately, the Emphra never succeeded in conquering the world. Despite the horrific damage and loss of life, Gui’Lo Trelda made a terrific recovery from 2300 to 2320. Over half of the damaged facilities were rebuilt and made fully operational. Even the planetary environment had been restored to full optimal conditions, and there was a report of a rise in population in 2325. The planet would play a significant role in restoring much of the economic infrastructure for the Yutilian clan and other kingdoms in the following years. With the United Itrean Republic collapse, Gui’Lo Trelda maintained an important ship producing facility and trade port. It has managed to survive countless assaults and now builds quality warships, for now, T’rintar clan. Much like New Atrea, its importance to the clan and the overall fleet wouldn’t be hindered, a lasting legacy in being one of the current oldest colonies in Itrean existence.
