Galanthis (NSFW)

If one thing is well known, there is the great variety of stories from Greece when it comes to mythical folklore. One story in particular that raises many accounts is one about Galanthis, but who is she, and what importance does she play in the world of mythical heroes? The story of Galanthis follows that of a woman that would help foil the plot in preventing the birth of Heracles. The Greek Goddess Hera would learn that the unborn child of Alcmene would be born soon. She also learned that Zeus was the father. This angered her so much that Hera plotted to prevent the birth of the child. Lucina, the goddess of childbirth, was given orders to stop the birth of the baby. Thankfully, Galanthis was there on the day of the delivery. Lucina carried out with her plot by holding Alcmene’s leg’s shut during the labor process and almost succeeded in killing her. Galanthis that witnessed the scene immediately tried to stop the goddess and ultimately succeeded. The baby Heracles was born. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well for Galanthis. While a savior to the baby, Lucina and Hera were angered with the woman and punished her dearly for her acts. Galanthis had made a mistake of ridiculing the deeds of the Greek gods and was turned into a weasel (some accounts say that it might have possibly been a cat). Galanthis, however, was still taken into account for her acts of heroism and was allowed to stay in the household as a guardian for the parents. This legend would encourage many Greek families to have pet weasels or cats in their homes. In Tales of Heroes, that story not only happened but gets even further. Galanthis would live a thousand years as the small little weasel. She cursed the Greek gods for their actions. She had been caught trying to stop the birth of a baby by the actions of a jealous wife. She was to remain as a weasel for eternity. She became spiteful and filled with hatred, but it wasn’t an end for the story of the transformed woman. This would instead result in the course of events that would lead her to become one of the more important women in the Coalition of Deities. Galanthis would ultimately meet Reynard the Fox and gain access to the Crystal of Ve. She eventually gained access to three forms: Her original form of the weasel, an intermediate form, and the ability to take up her human form again. This didn’t mean that she was able to hold the human form forever as she would still have to change back to her form of the weasel, but it was at least some success for her. Regardless, the weasel woman would instead try to find ways to reward herself and survive in the world of humanity. Surprisingly, she would ultimately get her break after the arrival of Cataclysm. What wiped out most of the deities, actually turned into something that worked into her favor. Galanthis would ultimately create her own brothel. Working for the Coalition of Deities, she had created a place of luxury for the mythics to come to her. This would actually create one of the few places that human mortals regularly go and become prostitutes for other mortals or the mythics themselves. Prostitutes that work under Galanthis are treated well even though she knows she is clearly in charge. She rules her brothel with an iron fist. Human mortals do enjoy many liberties and rewards for their employment with her, however. For example, prostitutes may not reveal what is going on to other mortals outside of the brothel itself. It is not the goal of Galanthis to inform about the deities to the outside world. If you do not wish to be a prostitute anymore, your memory of the mythics is erased, and you are sent packing out to the streets. The ones that work with the weasel woman are treated well, though. Prostitutes are fairly welcomed and have the right to say no to any mythic that they are not interested in. The brothel is registered under the Coalition of Deities as an outlet for sex, and the mortals that serve Galanthis, are under her and the Coalition’s protection. Prostitutes are given the best health, the greatest luxuries, and for all aspects want to work under the Chief Weasel. However, it isn’t to say things don’t always go well under her brothel. Probably one of the most famous incidents would actually go recorded as a classic fairy tale. The story goes that one day in the late 1890s, the god Makt, a toad deity recently born from the Egyptian Goddess Heget, would make rather frequent visits to the brothel of Galanthis. In fact, he actually went so many times it drove Galanthis nuts. He would also try to abuse the prostitutes and even cause havoc in the area itself. Galanthis was angered and pissed, but it is here that she made an error. Instead of raising the issue with the Coalition, she decided to act out of her own accord. To her, an attack on her prostitutes is an attack on herself. She declared that Makt had to repair any damages he made and pay for the services that he received in going to the brothel. The amount of money she asked was even beyond the ability for Makt to repay. She instead went to the forests of Europe and gathered an army of weasels. Declaring herself Chief Weasel, she marched to the toad’s estate and seized it for her own. This would be known as “The Willow Incident.” However, things didn’t go too well for Galanthis at first. Makt had a good friend by the name of Moritasgus, the Healing Badger God of the Celts and the Gauls. Misled by Makt, Moritasgus fought Galanthis and her army and saved the estate from being taken. The incident was finally handled by the Coalition of Deities that got word of the whole situation. It was deemed that Galanthis had gone too far, but Makt’s actions were even worse. Makt has been officially barred from coming to the brothel. Moritasgus was innocent as Makt had lied and made it seem that Galanthis was in a power struggle to steal everything that belonged to him. Galanthis was instructed to return back to her profession and never do it again. New rules were put into place on how the brothel was to operate and even limit the number of times that mythics can go into it in a given time unless they work for the weasel. Today, Galanthis has proven her point. While she has been given the ability to be made fully human, she has chosen to remain as she is. She considers her weasel side as a permanent wearing from the deities that tried to brand her so long ago. It is her way to mock the ones that transformed her. With most of the Greek mythics gone, she enjoys herself as the head of her own kingdom. Even as Wars come and go through Europe, Galanthis has become a significant information dealer for the Coalition and proven invaluable in the 20th century. It is the responsibility for the weasel to ensure her prostitutes are able to perform adequately in their services to others. While she doesn’t consider herself a lesbian, she must make sure all prostitutes, male or female, must be able to provide the best performances to satisfy their clients. Here is a perfect example of the case. Galanthis sits on her chair, as she tests out the actions of each one as she reads her favorite book, “The Wind and the Willows.” The famous story of the Willow Incident would live on in the retelling of the classic tale…….
