Dagn and Zyo, Capital of the Salre’po Empire
*Spoilers if you haven’t read Gabatrix: The First
Peace*
“The beauty of Dagn and Zyo are nothing to
be trifled with. They are brother and sister to one
another. However, caution is advised to the
outsider. The ruthless nature of their female-
dominated society exists. It’s their religion, their
belief, and opinion that the other gender (s) are
inferior.” Celina Langston, Executive Director of
Psychology, 2350 AD.
While the Empire of Gwin often takes 2nd
place in the most important worlds of the Aksren
clan, the Empire of Salre’po is one that can’t be
ignored. Their capital world is actually that of two
planets that spin harmoniously together. The
Salre’po hold important significant roles in Aksren
clan history, even more than what Gwin and the
capital of Ovashi had ever managed to accomplish.
However, those achievements have been met by
their cultural and perhaps stringent point of view
towards life. Perhaps, the combination of all these
factors put a better spotlight on the utter
complexity of the Aksren clan societies.
History
It is said that the Empire of Salre’po, or the
Empire of the Radiant Light, was formed out of the
actions of a discriminated society. While gender
history in all of Itrean society can be utterly
complex, there was generally an accepted view
that males held dominant control over the female
gender. Women were usually subservient in most
roles in the Era of Dead Space and all the way
through Old Space. However, no two planets
completely behaved in the same exact pattern.
Religions also caused differing views, with some
that believed in gender equality or no equality.
Gender equality was generally well received 30,000
years ago during the time of Jalgren the Great,
that believed in all equality.
However, around 110,000 years ago, it is said
that the Empire of Gwin and Nirk’on had heavy
views that females were subservient. A
dominating party on Ovashi even imposed rules
that women were to be stripped of all rights. They
could have no jobs and were forced to live under
veiled clothing. The Empire of Nirk’on also had
similar views under their oppressive “Jit’tal’*click*
gon.” Regime. Under this, males could have their
mates systematically executed if they simply
found them to be ugly, mildly ill, or even
miscarriage future offspring.
Of course, Gwin would ultimately overcome
the gender barrier and embrace values of equality
in time. Even a friend of Jalgren would play a
significant role in leading a coup to successfully
install herself as Empress under the leadership of
the Empire of Jalgren. But, before all of this would
happen, Gwin would face an uprising of its own. A
female warrior by the name of Brezere the Terrible
(The Great, by Salre’po views) would rise up to
challenge the status quo. The Brezere Rebellion
occurred 95,000 years ago and is as close to
describing as a genuine “gender war.” Many Itrean
historians do not hold Brezere in high moral
esteem but accept the path that she would pave
for the future of the Aksren clan. It is said that
Brezere was a female that was taught self-defense
under her religion. However, she had become
emboldened that women should hold equal rights
with that of men. She would later launch massive
campaigns to push her agendas.
However, Brezere would see her campaign
rallies be crushed ruthlessly under force.
Emboldened, she would gather her followers and
launch military campaigns against Gwin and
Nirk’on. Even Renlar would feel some of the weight
of her actions. Brezere was merciless in her efforts
as the years followed. She no longer valued
equality but followed her own view and oppression
of the male gender. It is said that she readily
encouraged her soldiers that captured male
prisoners to castrate them slowly in the most
ruthless manner, not including other methods of
torture. Historians even equated her to that of the
“Amazons” or the African tribe of “Amazons” That
had their own gender views. Unlike people such as
Rototrein, that was looked at as a liberator. Many
viewed Brezere as a terrorist.
The Brezere Rebellion would scoop its realm
of followers for almost twenty years despite the
efforts to shut it down. However, the damage that
she inflicted was more superficial. Ultimately, the
only successful triumph would be conquering the
Empire of Juk’in’Tal’Kres. Juk’in’Tal’Kres was not a
powerful empire in any way, being even weaker
than Gwin, Nirk’on, and Rasha’Molash’Tren.
The taking of their capital world would
ultimately end the Rebellion, with Brezere making
concessions and surrendering a few worlds to each
of the Empires for her world’s autonomy. When
Brezere conquered the tiny empire, it is said that
she installed herself as the “Sun-Empress.” Her
realm of followers would adhere to her commands
as they would create a society of matriarchy. The
original inhabitants of Juk’in’Tal’Kres would have
to adhere to her new domain of rules or face the
consequences. Brezere would announce the
creation of her new Empire, the Empire of Salre’po.
Under her rule, males were to live under
subservience. They held no rights, stripped of all
titles, clothing, and basic freedoms. Religions that
practiced any form of gender equality or
patriarchal views were barred. It was even said
that gender roles were intentionally reversed. The
penalty for breaking such rules could warrant
death, torture, or imprisonment.
Brezere would not stop at this point. During
her reign, she would commit to expansion. During
her exploratory missions, she would find the twin
worlds of Dagn and Zyo. Here she would plant the
flag of colonization. Both Dagn and Zyo were a rare
sight in worlds. Both of them were in a binary orbit
with one another in the habitable zone of the K-
Type star. Dagn and Zyo were the “goddesses”
under the growing Salre’po religion. Both were
considered “divine sisters” that ruled the galaxy in
order and sovereignty. In reality, both planets
would usher in a new beginning for the growing
Salre’po Empire. Despite both planets being
habitable, Dagn was a partially arid world. Water
was available, but its most significant contribution
was access to deep well pits where fertilizers could
be made. For the next hundreds of years, the
planet of Dagn would see a massive
transformation. It would ultimately become one of
the major food producers in the Aksren clan. Zyo,
was an aquatic and forested world, almost similar
to former Earth. Again, the population soared as
the seafood was cultivated and traded to other
Itrean worlds.
Both planets would become the cornerstone
of the Salre’po Empire. Within 70,000 years ago,
Dagn and Zyo would become leading food
producers. Other moons in the solar system would
be converted into shipyards as the Salre’po would
venture outward to claim other worlds of their
own. Brezere would only live for so long, but she
had achieved her dreams of creating an empire for
herself. Dagn and Zyo would ultimately become
the central capital planets for the Salre’po. The
new Aksren fleets of the Salre’po would dawn the
color of pink, which according to Itrean
psychologists, represented the color of luck and
purity.
By the era of Jalgren, Jalgren had to face the
Aksren people first to expand outward towards
the other species. In doing so, he would have to
face against Gwin and Salre’po. Gwin was the
bigger target due to their more extensive shipyard
facilities, but Salre’po was a different problem. It
was said that Jalgren knew that going after
Salre’po first would have been futile. Their views of
being ruled by a male flew in the face of their
population with disgust. However, there was some
luck on Jalgren’s side. At the time, Salre’po was
under the rulership of Empress Potresa’Go’Jasta
the V, the Merciful. The empress was a distant
relative to Jalgren’s mate Ovip’tolas. While
Ovip’tolas was only a quarter Salre’po, the
arranged original concept of the mateship was to
encourage good relations between Salre’po and
Renlar. When Jalgren made his intentions to
conquer all of the Aksren under his leadership, he
would have to negotiate carefully with
Potresa’Go’Jasta. The Salre’po was the third most
powerful Aksren military force.
The Salre’po Empress seemingly agreed with
Jalgren at first. Jalgren had made his intentions
that everyone would be treated equally under his
rule. However, conservatives under
Potresa’Go’Jasta believed in fighting back and
readied to mount a force to repel Jalgren’s fleets.
The Empress made it clear that Jalgren would still
allow her to remain as ruler as long as food and
tributes were offered to Renlar. His views on
idealism would be slowly implemented to allow
the cultures to adjust to changes naturally.
Potresa’Go’Jasta the V was actually considered to
be lenient and progressive for her time, even
allowing religions and reversing extreme laws on
how males were to be treated.
However, the Salre’po didn’t quickly bend
over to Jalgren’s view. Even with Gwin conquered,
the Salre’po knew that they would be next.
Extremists tried to mount a coup on
Potresa’Go’Jasta the V. While this failed, the
Salre’po would fall into a civil war where Jalgren
would have to assist the Empress’s loyalist fleets.
Ultimately, the conflict was resolved rather
quickly with the complete destruction of the rebel
fleets. However, the conservatives would fail to
win, and Salre’po would fall under the watchful
eye of Jalgren.
Regardless, Potresa’Go’Jasta was no fool
either. One thing she failed to mention to him was
that she had a hidden shipyard allocated in a
remote sector of space. The secret facility and
navy would be deactivated but maintained in the
future. This was in case Jalgren would fail to
adhere to his terms of the bargain or if he was
lying.
During the early years, Salre’po would see
that gender equality was made. Males were
allowed to live their own lives. While it would be
slowly incorporated, it is believed that the Salre’po
did embrace progressive views on gender equality
for the next 20,000 years. Most of these stringent
views would never return again. Even with the
dying Empire of Jalgren, the Salre’po still kept a lot
of these institutions intact. However, it is believed
that many of the elites in Salre’po society still
insisted on some ancient traditions. With the fact
that the Empire of Jalgren had grown decadent and
corrupt, many saw ways to try to divide from such
a system. The Salre’po were no different. Neo Pre-
Potresa’Go’Jasta movements were growing. It
would ultimately lead to the Dagn Rebellion,
where both males and females fought against the
Neo movement but were decimated with the help
of the Jalgren Imperial forces. Female rule and
matriarchy were reintroduced.
But, the Salre’po began to look at the Empire
of Jalgren with apprehension. Despite their earlier
assistance, the Salre’po were still under its control.
Any progressive movements in the Empire of
Jalgren could have shattered the new regime that
came out of Dagn and Zyo. What became known as
the Helrtiz Incident would lead to the destruction
of a city on Dagn. In the event, Imperial forces had
a grave malfunction on one of their decaying
warships. It fell from orbit and crashed down on
the city of Helritz. When going to retrieve the
wreckage, the imperials had mistakenly detonated
one of the nuclear warheads, destroying the city
and its 100,000 inhabitants. The planet and its
inhabitants were infuriated as Dagn and Zyo were
left responsible for cleaning up the wreckage and
fallout.
When the Rototrein Rebellion began, the
people of Dagn and Zyo returned to the ancient
shipyard of Potresa’Go’Jasta the V. They vowed to
declare war on the Empire of Jalgren with their
new growing fleet. It was said that the Imperial
fleet was taken by complete surprise by the arrival
of pink Salre’po warships. Despite the early
victories from the Empire, their forces were
ultimately routed, and Dagn and Zyo were
liberated. Dagn, Zyo, and Shal’tar would become
one of the first series of rebel planets that
successfully fought for the empire's destruction.
As the Rotorein Rebellion grew, access to that
shipyard would help out further Aksren rebel
forces of other worlds.
When the Rototrein Rebellion ended, and the
Empire of Jalgren was defeated, the Empire of
Salre’po was reborn once again. However, many of
the extreme views of the ancient past were never
readopted. While males generally had fewer rights
than females, it’s been an ongoing struggle to
achieve equality. The Salre’po would regain much
of their former lost territories, and Dagn and Zyo
would return as a central food world for the entire
clan. The Salre’po maintain good relations with the
Empire of Itsis, also under a female ruler.
Regardless, the fact that the Empire of Itsis is the
shattered remains of the Empire of Jalgren had
encouraged the Salre’po to join up in the
Zix’Tral’Tren with the Empires of Gwin and Nirk’on.
The famed Salre’po pink war fleets would be
repainted in the unified red color.
During the Emphra War, the Emphra would
only attack the Salre’po capital worlds once. The
Battle of Zyo resulted in heavy losses by the
Salre’po, but the planet was saved. However, as
each battle raged across the galaxy, fear mounted
if any planet was genuinely safe. Great effort was
made to ensure that Dagn and Zyo would continue
to flourish to help handle the scale of refugees
from other worlds and maintain proper production
of food standards. Emergency concessions,
pressured by other Empires, promised that non-
native Aksren males would be treated fairly until
the war was deemed over.
After the end of the Emphra Wars, many of
the former refuges would ultimately be expelled in
2304 as planets were being rebuilt. This was
mostly due to differing conflicting views and the
fact that the Emphra was considered to no longer
be a threat. It’s believed that Salre’po has become
a quiet state in Aksren clan affairs. Dagn and Zyo
remain firmly behind the Empire of Itsis views as
the “immortal” ruler will remain in charge of Itsis,
perhaps, indefinitely.
Ultimately, it would be Zilik’s Disease that
would end the arguments once and for all. With
the complete destruction of Itrean males by 2340,
Dagn and Zyo have been left to a single gender. It
is unknown if the ivon have been subjugated
under the punishments that males had previously
faced. The clash of ancient traditions with modern
progressive views can sometimes reach heated
debates.
Potential UWA ambassadors are usually
advised to be cautious when dealing with Salre’po.
Men are not highly regarded by their society or
treated seriously. It is further unknown, especially
when dealing with humanity.

Ancient Aksren Salre’po spaceships were adorned in pink
under the matriarchal rule of their commanders. The
color trend would eventually come to an end by 9000
years ago.
